Street-Style Tteokbokki
STREET-STYLE TTEOKBOKKI
APPLIANCE
KITH Kyō Electric Cooker
Instructions
Place the Large Hotplate on the appliance and set it to P3 using the Synchr-O mode. Pour in water or anchovy broth and bring it to a gentle simmer.
Stir in gochujang, gochugaru (adjust to desired spiciness), soy sauce, sugar, and minced garlic until fully dissolved and the sauce turns a rich, vibrant red.
Add the rice cakes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Simmer for 8 - 10 minutes, or until softened and chewy.
Add fish cakes and continue simmering for another 5 minutes. Add hard-boiled eggs if using.
Toss in spring onions and let the sauce reduce slightly until thick and glossy.
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top (optional) and use the lid to cover briefly until melted.
Garnish with sesame seeds and serve hot, straight from the hotplate for that authentic street food vibe.
