Smokeless Grill

(SBG-KC-BG2, SBG-TC-BG2, SBG-TC-B1, SBG-KC-B1, SBG-MINI-W1, SBG-KS-B1, SBG-KS-G1, SBG-TR-B1)
What sets the KITH Smokeless Grill apart from a traditional indoor grill?
Our KITH Smokeless Grill ensures a smoke-free experience, enhancing the health and safety of your meals while creating a more enjoyable atmosphere compared to conventional indoor grills. Discover why it's a healthier choice in our Article section, specifically in the piece titled "Carcinogens in BBQ smoke absorbed more by skin than lungs" (Link - Carcinogens in BBQ smoke absorbed more by skin than lungs)
How is the KITH Smokeless Grill smoke-less? What’s the explanation behind it?

Traditional BBQ grills often place the heating element directly below the food, so when fats and juices drip down, they hit the hot surface, burning and releasing smoke. This design can cause intense smoke, especially with fatty foods.

In contrast, the patented heating element in the KITH Smokeless Grill reduces smoke by maintaining consistent and controlled heat throughout cooking. This even heat transfer to the grill plate cooks food evenly at optimal temperatures, avoiding the high-heat spikes that can cause oils or food particles to burn and produce smoke. Additionally, the design positions a cool drip tray below the heating element, allowing fats and juices from the food to drip directly into this tray without burning. Since these drippings don’t come into contact with high heat, they don’t create smoke, resulting in a cleaner, smoke-free grilling experience.

Are there difference between TC (SBG-TC-B1) and PyroGlow™ Touch (SBG-TC-BG2) models?

What is special about KITH PyroHeat Wave Heating Halogen Technology?

KITH Smokeless BBQ features cutting-edge patented infrared technology designed to generate powerful yet gentle heat, effectively penetrating and cooking food while preserving its nutrients, flavors, and juices. Infrared technology, widely utilised in various food manufacturing processes such as drying, heaters, antioxidant recovery, sterilsation of grains, and roasting, revolutionizes the way we cook by preserving the integrity of the food's essential elements.

Traditionally, infrared halogen heating lies in its reliance on intermittent activation through a thermostat. In traditional systems, the heat lamp is regulated by turning on and off based on the thermostat's readings. This intermittent activation may lead to temperature fluctuations, making it challenging to maintain a consistent and precise cooking environment.

KITH’s technology overcomes this drawback by avoiding intermittent activation altogether. Instead, it maintains a steady temperature once activated. This eliminates the issue of temperature fluctuations, allowing for more precise control over the cooking process. The rapid and consistent heating capability enables efficient responses to temperature changes, ensuring a stable and controlled cooking experience.

Is Far Infrared heating considered safe?

It poses no health risks; in fact, it is much healthier as it preserves, rather than destroys, essential nutrients. While Infrared lights are frequently compared to the sun's warmth, they do not emit ultraviolet (UV) rays. UV, found on the high-energy side of the Electromagnetic spectrum, is linked to the adverse effects of sun exposure.

In contrast, KITH utilises Far Infrared, positioned on the low-energy end of the spectrum, devoid of the harmful characteristics of UV. Our bodies naturally accept and emit infrared, with Far Infrared being the gentlest form, commonly employed in baby incubators.

It's crucial to note that the harm associated with exposure is attributed to UV, not infrared. Infrared technology, widely utilised in various food manufacturing processes such as drying, heaters, antioxidant recovery, sterilisation of grains, and roasting, revolutionises the way we cook by preserving the integrity of the food's essential elements.

How can I clean the interior of the heating area at the top? Is it possible to remove the metal guard for cleaning?

As the heating element contains glass materials, we advise against removing the metal guard for cleaning. The metal guard acts as a protective layer for the heating element, as any cracks could pose a risk of harm or result in the unit malfunctioning. For safety precautions, we recommend users clean the metal guard with a warm damp cloth.

Why are there stains on the metal guard and the heating element area after grilling? I am having difficulty removing them. I’ve used it for the first time, and it seems like the stainless steel heating element has rust or a brown discoloration. Is this normal?

The stains around the heating element are caused by oil splatter during cooking. While it might be possible to clean these stains, we do not recommend doing so because the heating element incorporates glass components. Attempting to clean this area may cause damage or, if there are any cracks, lead to malfunction.

Regarding the metal guard, the discoloration you see is not rust but a phenomenon called heat tint. When the stainless steel is exposed to extreme heat, the chromium reacts with oxygen to form a thin oxide layer. This layer can appear in various colors, including brown, and is completely harmless. This discoloration is a normal result of high-temperature exposure.

Due to the materials involved, both types of stains are very difficult to remove, and leaving them does not affect the heating performance. For safety reasons, we strongly advise against removing the metal guard when cleaning the top heating element. The guard is designed to protect the element, and any damage or cracks could pose a risk.

For routine cleaning, we recommend using a warm, damp cloth on the metal guard. If you still wish to attempt reducing the brown discoloration on the stainless steel, you may try the following method, although it may not completely remove the stain:

How to Reduce the Brown Discoloration:

Vinegar Solution: Apply white vinegar to the affected area, let it sit for a few minutes, and then gently scrub with a non-abrasive sponge.

Why is the fan still making noise after I finish grilling?

It is completely normal. While grilling, the grill fan plays a crucial role in circulating air around the food, ensuring even heating. Once you finish grilling (either by turning off the timer or when it lapses), the unit will enter ‘Cooldown Mode’. In this mode, the fan will continue running for 8 minutes to cool down the unit.

At this stage, it's important to refrain from cleaning and turning off the Power Switch. Only turn off your unit completely when the cooling fan stops operating.

Is the grill pan and oil collection tray dishwasher-safe?

Yes, they are dishwasher-safe.

How do I go about cleaning the grill? Is it a difficult task?

Cleaning and maintaining is a simple 4-part process.

  1. Wash Grill Pan:

Lift the grill pan upwards to remove from the base. Wash it with dishwashing liquid and a non-abrasive soft sponge, or place it in a dishwasher.

  2. Wash Oil Collection Tray:

Located at the bottom of the base, detach it by sliding it out. Wash it with dishwashing liquid and a non-abrasive soft sponge, or place it in a dishwasher.

  3. Clean Oil Funnel:

It is a small funnel located at the base when the grill pan is taken out. Wipe down with a warm damp cloth with a bit of dishwashing liquid. For more thorough cleaning, consider cleaning it with a straw brush.

  4. Wipe Body:

Simple wipe down with a warm damp cloth. Do not immerse or wash the entire unit under running water.

Ensure the unit is completely cooled down before starting the cleaning process.

Is it normal for my smokeless grill to emit smoke the first time I use it?

Yes, it’s normal for a smokeless grill to emit a bit of smoke during its first use. This usually happens due to:

  • Burn-off of manufacturing residues such as protective oils or coatings on heating elements.

  • Curing of non-stick coating, which may release a slight odor or smoke initially.

  • Dust or packing residue left on the grill from the factory.

Before your first cook, we recommend:

  • Wiping down all surfaces with a damp cloth.

  • Running the grill empty for 5 - 10 minutes in a well-ventilated area to allow any residues to burn off.

This is a one-time process and should not happen again in future uses. If it does, it could be due to leftover grease or food particles - clean the grill thoroughly before each use

  • Flat surface
Are all the grilling accessories dishwasher safe?

Yes, they are dishwasher-safe.

Can all grilling accessories be safely washed in the dishwasher?

No, there's no need for a special sponge or detergent. Just steer clear of abrasive cleaners/agents, metal brushes, or steel wool, as they can harm the pan's surface and non-stick coating.

Will the Silicone Ring melt and is it PFOA-free?

The Silicone Ring is crafted from high-quality, heat-resistant material, ensuring it won't melt during grilling.

Make sure to wrap the Silicone Ring around the edges of the grill pan before starting the grilling process; otherwise, the pan may become too hot to handle

Why does my Silicone Tray looks patchy or uneven spots?

For First-Time Use

Heat and Humidity: Silicone can absorb moisture from the air, and exposure to high temperatures over time (common in humid places like Singapore) can cause discoloration or degradation. While silicone is durable, extreme or prolonged exposure to such conditions may affect its appearance. However, this usually does not compromise its safety or functionality.

If After Used Multiple Times

  • Residue Build-Up: Silicone can retain oils or food particles if not cleaned properly, which may cause discoloration and roughness over time. This is especially true if fatty foods or sauces are involved.
  • Improper Cleaning: Abrasive sponges or harsh chemical cleaners can damage the surface of silicone, causing it to lose its smooth texture and become rough or discolored. Silicone is generally resilient, but aggressive cleaning methods can deteriorate it. can damage the surface of silicone, causing it to look worn out.

In both scenarios, silicone is non-toxic and remains safe for food use unless there are visible cracks or significant degradation that might affect functionality or food safety. However, cosmetic damage like discoloration doesn't typically make silicone unsafe to use.

Cleaning Suggestion:
Soaking silicone in a solution of baking soda and vinegar is a common and gentle method to remove stains or residue. Silicone can withstand this treatment without damage, and the soft brush helps clean without causing wear.

Low-Sugar Rice Cooker

(LRC-1L-BK)
How does the rice cooker reduce the starch and carbohydrate in rice?

It all began with a simple inspiration drawn from the traditional method of "Draining Rice," sparking our exploration and integration of this concept into the rice cooker.

Upon introducing heat to the water and rice, the amylose in the rice dissolves, creating rice-water, also known as starch water. Utilising our patented Starch-Reduction Structure, we implement two methods to separate the starch water from the rice:

  1. Upper structure - Utilising the "Distillation Principle", guides the rice-water to condense to the 'Water Container.'
  2. Lower structure - Featuring holes in the 'Rice Container,' facilitates the drainage of starchy water before it is absorbed by the cooked rice.

As the rice and rice-water (starchy water) separate within the inner pot, the rice cooker continues to steam the rice at a consistent temperature, ensuring it stays soft and fluffy.

Please be aware that using the 'Rice Containers' and 'Water Container' provided with the rice cooker is essential to achieving low-sugar rice.

How many cups of rice it can cook?

For low-sugar rice, you can cook up to 2 cups (minimum 2 cups)

For normal rice, the capacity is 4 cups.

I want to cook low-sugar rice. How can I prepare it?

To prepare low-sugar rice, use the provided 'Rice Containers' and 'Water Container' that comes with the rice cooker.

Firstly, place the rice in the 'Rice Container' and position it inside the Inner Pot. Then, add water until it reaches approximately 3mm above the rice. Put the 'Water Container' on top and close the lid.

Lastly, press the "Desugar" function on the control panel and start the cooking process. It will take approximately 50 minutes to complete.

Alternatively, you can share this YouTube video using the following link - How to Use the Desugar Function on KITH Low-Sugar Rice Cooker

Is it possible to use brown rice with the "Desugar" function?

Yes, you can use the "Desugar" function to cook any type of rice!

Can I still cook normal rice if I don’t want the low-sugar option?

Yes, you can cook regular rice as usual. Just don’t utilise the 'Rice Containers' and 'Water Container' attachments and cook your rice directly in the Inner Pot.

The standard water-to-rice ratio in a rice cooker is 1:1, meaning 1 cup of water to 1 cup of rice. However, feel free to adjust according to your preferences.

What is the duration for each operation?

Please see table below for the duration of each function:

Functions

  • Desugar - 50 minutes
  • Quick Cook - 35 minutes
  • Slow Cook - 45 minutes
  • Porridge - 60 minutes
  • Claypot - 70 minutes
  • Soup - 120 minutes
  • Reheating - 20 minutes

Pressure Cooker with Air Fryer

(MPA-B6L-BK)
Why does the steam continue to be released from the Steam Release Valve when it is set to the 'SEAL' position?

It serves as a safety mechanism to release excess pressure built-up in the machine, resulting in steam release from the unit

Please make sure there is a minimum of 1.5 cups of water in the inner pot, as the pressure is affected by the water volume in the container. When the amount of water is reduced, the confined space allows water vapor to accumulate, leading to a higher concentration of vapor molecules. Consequently, the pressure inside the container tends to increase.

Why is the fan particularly loud when I use the “Bake” function?

This is normal as the fan's noise level during the "Bake" function is deliberately set to ensure the best baking results. Our engineers have designed it this way to regulate heat evenly throughout the oven, leading to superior baking performance. Please be assured that this noise is not indicative of a malfunctioning product but rather a feature intended to enhance functionality.

How come the fan doesn’t stop spinning after using the most function?

This is normal as the fan will continue to operate even after the cooking is completed or when the user attempts to stop the cooking midway. This function is specifically designed to cool down the machine after use. During this cooldown period, it's essential to understand that while the fan remains active, the heating element has already ceased operation. The fan will automatically stop once the machine's internal temperature reaches a certain level. We advise allowing the fan to run its course entirely before switching off the machine, as this practice can help prolong the product's lifespan.

What is the capacity of the internal working space?

The internal working space has a capacity of about 4L to 4.5L.
