Place your steak on a plate and drizzle with olive oil, salt, and black pepper on both sides, massaging it a little to cover all areas.
Using a knife, cutcrosswise ¼ to a ½ inchfrom the top of the garlic bulb exposing the garlic clove, and spread the cloves with butter.
Preheat the grill to 280°C for 5 minutes, then place your halved garlic onto the frying pan and grill for about 2 minutes.
Then, drop your steak and grill for about 6 minutes and then, flip to the other sideand cook another 6minutes.
In the last 2 minutes of cooking, add butter and thyme onto the pan.
Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for at least 5 –7 minutes before serving.
Enjoy the steak together with the roasted garlic!
Do note that the cooking times may vary with the method of preparation, size and shape of the cut, and your desired degree of doneness. Using a Meat Thermometer is the best way to identify the doneness of your meat.
